Scholarships

U-CAN collaborates with all HBCUs to identify all scholarships offered by the college or university, including academic athletic, performance based and/or special awards.   During the 2005/2006 school year U-CAN secured over 3,500,000 in scholarships for 132 students.   Scholarships are projected over a four year period.   Also during the 2005/2006 year, U-CAN partnered with; Texas Southern University to offer 24 scholarships, Dillard University to offer 20 scholarships and Bennett College for Women to offer 19 scholarships.

U-CAN also partners with Nehemiah Education Foundation of Nehemiah Corporation of America to offer ten $1,000 scholarships for U-CAN students.  

U-CAN established the Noglia Rowe-Leach Memorial Scholarship in 2005 in memory of the sister of U-CAN founder Alan Rowe.   The scholarships are awarded to U-CAN students who are matriculating to an HBCU.   Scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated academic excellence or potential, leadership skills and church and/or community service.
