Walter Maxfield Jones

Walter Maxfield Jones

A native of Sacramento, California, Walter Maxfield Jones has been performing since he was a child. Singing, dancing and acting from the time he could walk, Walter gravitated to the stage winning numerous talent competitions and landing lead roles in plays and musicals.  It was clear from the first time he picked up a mic he was destined to be in the spotlight.  With a rage of talents and a gift for comedic timing, W. Maxfield Jones is the ultimate entertainer

W. Maxfield Jones began acting in school and church plays and in time his ability was recognized.  He landed lead roles in stage plays such as "Raisin in the Sun," "Sparkle," "The Gift," "Wine in the Wilderness," the Lamar Hill trilogy "Never Sleep Alone," "Deception and Denial," and "The Love Electric."  He is currently on a 20 city tour of "The Power, The Passion, and The Pulpit."   Several years ago he began doing films and quickly became a known as a "leading man" in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area.  He is very excited about his most recent lead role in the film "Misunderstandings" and his upcoming role in "Reflections of a Motor City" directed by Bill Duke. His other film credits include lead and principle roles in "Painted Smiles," "Urge," and "Prayer Life" which was released on www.amazon.com  in January 2008.  Walter’s films have been featured in XXIII BLACK INTERNATIONAL CINEMA BERLIN/GERMANY, London Independent Film Festival, The Washington DC International Film Festival, Hollywood Black Film Festival, and Atlanta Film Festival.

Also, you can hear him on www.im4radio on Tuesdays from 7-9pm as he frequently drops by the "T-Time" with Ty Flood Show adding hilarious yet thoughtful commentary on a wide range of relationship topics.   Recently, he was selected to host the TV Show "Capital City Nightlife" which will cover the nightlife and promoters in this nation’s capital cities. W. Maxfield Jones has hosted and is available to host a range of show types including Talk Radio, Television, R&B/Neo Soul Concerts, Spoken Word Events, and Hip Hop Battles.

Songwriting became a passion for Walter at the age of 11 and he has been writing songs ever since. At 16 he was signed to MCA as a part of a group named "Adagio." After 2 years, he left the group to attend Morgan State University where he studied Electrical Engineering and eventually started his own IT Company. With over 100 songs in his catalog Walter Maxfield Jones boast such hits as ""I Love You Better," "A Friend," " Monkey Love," "The Headboard," "Oh No," "Sucka For Love," "Come Over," "Maintenance Man" ...etc.   As a writer for singers, he captures life from the artist’s experiences and perspective.  He has the ability to hear their vocal tone and range which inspires him to compose melodies specifically for the artist with the lyrics drawn from both that artist’s and his own personal experience.
